About Arbutus

Arbutus - often called Arbutus Ridge - is a quiet, leafy residential neighbourhood on Vancouver's West Side, running along the Arbutus corridor between West Broadway and West King Edward Avenue. Its signature is the Arbutus Greenway, a linear park and walking-and-cycling path built on the former CP rail line that threads the neighbourhood and connects toward False Creek and Kitsilano. The area is mostly single-family character homes with low-rise apartments near the corridor, anchored by the Arbutus Shopping Centre and the private Arbutus Club. Day to day it's calm and green, with Kerrisdale's and Kitsilano's shopping a short distance away and the beaches of Kits and Jericho within reach. The Broadway corridor and its transit sit at the northern edge, linking downtown and the wider city.
